1) Development of the post graduate programmes by: considering the scope and demand of the higher studies in the Republic of Yemen , two most sought for fields were identified for the post graduate programmes to start with to suit the existing infrastructure and the availability of funds
� IIT kanpur will help the execution of the programmes through visiting professors
� During the preparation of the master's dissertation the students are required to stay at least four months at IIT kanpur campus to make use of library , laboratory and computing facilities
� IIT Kanpur will provide a co-supervisor for every dissertation.
2) Faculty development programme.
� IIT Kanpur will extend invitation to the faculty of the university of Aden to attend any summer school/ short tern courses organized during the summer vacation
� IIT Kanpur will send visiting professor specialized in the areas required by university of Aden to conduct courses on advanced topics during the month of December or may for the benefit of teaching staff. They will also assist in updating of the curriculum and syllabuses.
3) Research and development
� 2-3 faculty members of the faculty of engineering will visit IIT Kanpur to conduct some research work for a short duration during summer vacation (July & August.
� IIT Kanpur will offer facilities for post doctoral research work to some of the faculty members of the University of Aden. The required scholarships may be sought through the I. C.C.R. under the cultural exchange programme.
� Joint research projects in the field of social sciences and applied sciences will also be undertaken to study and interact with the culture and civilization of the two countries
� Collaborative research activities in the fields of physics & chemistry can also be undertaken |
